MENA recognizes Laura Barrett as a Neighborhood Hero!

Our latest award goes to Laura Barrett for her diligent efforts to raise awareness and additional funding to keep the Bertha Henschel Pool open for the summer of 2010.
In recognizing individuals who have made a significant positive impact, on East Sacramento, MENA has created the Neighborhood Hero Award. Award recipients will be honored for their leadership and outreach efforts in any of the following areas:
- Furthering the development of parks, playgrounds, nature areas or areas of solitude
- Effecting changes in laws/regulations or attitudes that benefit neighborhood livability.
- Exemplary leadership, neighborhood outreach, neighborhood relations or organizational development.
- Actions that have brought measurable or observable improvement to the livability of the neighborhood
Nominations will take place from July through the following June and the annual award will be given each summer.
