Emergency Disaster Preparedness Discussion-Information

November 16, 2010

An Emergency Disaster Preparedness Discussion was held Monday, November 29th, 2010 at Theodore Judah Elementary School. This forum, sponsored by the Sacramento Flood Control Agency and City Police/Fire/Neighborhood Services and others provided residents and businesses with important updates on levee conditions and rescue and emergency information. Two documents were provided which gave great flood protection information. The documents are entitled Be Flood Ready and Are You Prepared, a guide to emergency preparedness for Sacramento County. Sac City Department of Utilities provided the first document and the County of Sac Dept of Public Health handed out this larger document. A group called Noah's Wish saves animals during disasters. They can be reached at www.noahswish.info or (916)996-2012.  Lastly a site at sacramentoready.org was recommended by Sac PD Officer Quinn. The motto with all speakers was preparation and information for any local emergency event.     Deane Dana, Chairman, MENA Neighborhood Safety Committee
